Kill On Sight

Although a Semi-RP server Magnum moderation does not prohibit KOS aka Kill on Sight. However, there are places where you are either immune to KOS, the Player Help Center Safe Zone, or you are player protected from KOS.

What is KOS?

KOS (Kill On Sight) in gaming refers to a player behavior or server policy where players immediately attack and attempt to eliminate other players upon encounter, without any prior communication or consideration for potential cooperation.

Safe Zone

The Player Help Center is a Safe Zone, whereas other players will not be able to shoot and kill you or via combat. You can warp to the Safe Zone at any time by issuing the command

/warp help
/safezone
/warp safezone

Any one of those three commands will take you to the Player Help Center.

Player Regulated Areas

Areas within a Faction Kingdom may have laws against murder, firearms without a license, or other restrictions depending on the form of government in that area. These are player controlled and enforced regulations.

Major cities all have a mayor and police to enforce laws concerning public safety. The effectiveness of law enforcement in any given area depends on how well the player government in that area is operated.

Why We Do Not Enforce KOS Rules

The behavior of killing another player on sight is a social problem and very difficult to enforce. Players that have died in legitimate combat or circumstances they provoked can claim to have been the victim of KOS just to take satisfaction in having another party face punitive action.

On MagnumSRP our staff does not get involved in KOS accusations and there is no punitive action against perpetrators of KOS behavior. Most often these aggressive offensive players end up either altering their behavior or leaving the server as the full force of faction governments tend to hunt them down again and again until they are not able to continue being a problem.
