The Commands

Toonies, Loonies, and physical currency (vanilla money) can be converted to digital credits as well as credit to cash back conversion. Exchange physical currency in the game like that which you can pick up after killing Zombies for digital credit using the in game shop. The shop commands are:

  • /shop
  • /value
  • /buy
  • /sell
  • /sellall

You can check your account balance, and pay other players from your credit balance with the following commands:

  • /balance
  • /pay <playername>

All players can collect Universal Daily Income by using a command, and additional bonus income if a member of a faction or city employment.

  • /payday
  • /bonuspay

These are all of the economy related commands. On MagnumSRP you can earn credit with the /payday command that can be used again and again after a short cool-down to earn money the easy way, or you can put in effort to earn greater amounts and become rich. Wealth affords you the ability to buy the best vehicles, equipment, military weapons and gain power and control over the Magnum world.

Watch out for taxes! You will learn about those as you make more money.

The Magnum Economy

The physical currency is the vanilla money. Don't ignore money like you would in a vanilla server. Here you can convert it into digital credit.

Market prices for commodities (things you can make and sell to the shop) will fluctuate as the economy changes. In a good economy the market commodities will be worth more. In a weak economy the market prices will be low making it more difficult to become wealthy. Market prices for the manufacturing of firearms, vehicles, and other factory related goods will also fluctuate with the market. The market is entirely player control either by direct means or indirect consequences of player activity.

Digital currency is the most secure as you will not lose it all if you are killed or raided. Your digital currency remains even when the map is wiped or other updates take place. The only exception is if the Magnum player base elects to have an economic reset which has never resulted in a total wipe of player credit. Digital currency is subject to taxes such as the death tax. Keeping physical currency helps you avoid the death tax, but where you store physical currency is at some degree of risk for theft or seizure by a government.

Players can choose to take control of the various factories on the map, or leave them open for public use. Players can establish banks, provide loans, and other investments. Again, the entire economy is player driven.

A weak economy can occur when an aggressive faction isolates areas of the map or locks down a major city. A strong economy can occur when several factions exist and economic trade is strong. Keeping cities open for trade and establishing good relationships between ruling factions create the strongest economy, driving down prices and increasing profit and revenue.

Faction leaders may choose to tax their residents. Any city within a faction kingdom is subject to that faction leadership's proposed tax system. Some factions have even attempted communism by forcing wealthy citizens to provide money to the impoverished citizens within a faction kingdom. Capitalism, Socialism, Communism, or whatever economy structure is being used in a faction kingdom is completely up to the players running the faction and thus further making the entire economy player driven.
